PGLA
Poly(glycolide-co-L-lactide)
Poly(glycolide-co-lactide) (PGLA) is obtained by the ring-opening co-polymerization of glycolide (cyclic dimer of glycolic acid) and lactide (cyclic dimer of lactic acid) as monomers.
Since lactide has 3 optical isomer as L-lactide, D-lactide, and DL-lactide, the copolymer of glycolide and L-lactide is abbreviated to PGLA, while the copolymer of glycolide and DL-lactide is abbreviated to PGDLLA.

Potential application of PGLA
PGLA polymer with higher content of glycolide and having similar properties with PGA is mainly applied for absorbable suture. PGLA filament is used as multifilament because the filament obtained from PGLA with higher content of glycolide is also rigid and less flexible.
