CryoScarless DMSO Free is a new protein-and DMSO-free cryopreservation solution for various cell types. After thawing, cells show a high viability in various cell cultures. For stem cells, their pluripotency (undifferentiated state) is maintained.

※ For research use only. Not for other uses.
※ CryoScarless DMSO-Free is sold by Funakoshi Co., Ltd.

Feature

  • Serum and protein components are not included.
  • Due to the absence of toxicity and protein effects from DMSO, cells can be cryopreserved safely and with a high survival rate.
  • Shows approximately 90% survival rate after thawing.
  • Stem cells can also be cryopreserved while maintaining their differentiation ability.
  • Asepitec tests confirm the absence of contamination by bacteria, fungi, and mycoplasma.
  • This product can be stored stably for long periods at 4°C (shelf life: 2 years).

Experimental Example

The differentiation potential of rat mesenchymal stem cells frozen and preserved with this product after thawing was examined and compared with that of the non-frozen group and 10% DMSO. The results show that both differentiation potentials of the cells frozen in the product are well maintained.

The survival rate of rat mesenchymal stem cells after thawing and six hours post-thaw was measured following cryopreservation with this product and compared to cells preserved with 10% DMSO. The results demonstrated that both the immediate post-thaw survival rate (0h) and the adhesion survival rate (6h) were higher in cells cryopreserved with this product.

Outline operation

  1. Place cultured cells in a tube, centrifuge, and remove the supernatant.
  1. Suspend cells to 5×10⁵ to 5×10⁶ cells/ml by adding this product, and dispense 1 ml into a storage tube.
  1. Freeze in a deep freezer at -80°C.
    1. ※For long-term storage, store in liquid nitrogen.
  1. Cells stored in condition 3. are quickly thawed with shaking in a thermostatic bath at 37°C and washed centrifugally with appropriate medium (about 10 ml).
